OPERA Cloud Setup Guide
Connect Oracle OPERA Cloud to PropertyPlex so your rooms, reservations, and housekeeping statuses stay in sync automatically.
checklistWhat You'll Need
- Access to the Oracle Hospitality portal where you manage your OPERA account
- Your Hotel ID — the short code that identifies your property in OPERA (e.g., "HOTEL001")
- A property already set up in PropertyPlex
info
Note: This setup requires someone with access to the Oracle Hospitality portal (OHIP) — usually your IT team or whoever manages your OPERA account. If you're not sure who that is, check with your general manager.
Step 1: Set Up the Connection in Oracle
Someone with access to the Oracle Hospitality portal needs to create an application for PropertyPlex. Here's what they need to do:
- Log in to the Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (this is Oracle's portal for managing connections)
- Go to Applications and click Create Application
- Fill in the details — name it "PropertyPlex" and select the permissions for rooms and reservations
- You'll be given three pieces of information: a Client ID, a Client Secret, and an Application Key
- Copy all three and save them — the Client Secret is only shown once!
Step 2: Find Your Hotel ID
You need the short code that identifies your property in OPERA Cloud. Here's where to find it:
- Log in to OPERA Cloud with an admin account
- Go to Administration → Enterprise → Property
- You'll see a short code for your hotel (like "HOTEL001") — that's your Hotel ID
info
The Hotel ID is the short code, not the full name of your property. It's usually something like "HOTEL001" or "MYPROP".
Step 3: Pick Your Environment
OPERA Cloud has two modes you can connect to:
science Sandbox (Testing)
Use this to test the connection first. It uses sample data and won't affect your live property.
verified Production (Live)
Use this when you're ready for real data. This connects to your actual OPERA Cloud property.
warning
Tip: Oracle recommends testing in Sandbox mode first before going live. The login details for Sandbox and Production are separate, so you'll need the right set for whichever mode you choose.
Step 4: Connect It in PropertyPlex
Now take all the information from the steps above and plug it into PropertyPlex:
- In PropertyPlex, go to System Admin → Integrations
- Click Add Connector
- Pick OPERA Cloud from the list
- Enter your Client ID, Client Secret, and Application Key
- Enter your Hotel ID
- Choose Sandbox or Production (must match where you created the application)
- Choose which PropertyPlex property this should connect to
- Click Test & Connect — PropertyPlex will check everything and start pulling in your rooms

That's it! Once connected, PropertyPlex will automatically pull in your rooms and reservations from OPERA Cloud and keep everything in sync.
How Room Statuses Match Up
When a room changes status in OPERA Cloud, PropertyPlex automatically translates it:

| Dirty |
→ |
Turning |
| Inspected |
→ |
Inspection |
| Out of Service |

What Gets Synced
Once connected, PropertyPlex automatically keeps the following up to date:
meeting_room Your Rooms
Room numbers, types, floors, and configurations are pulled from OPERA Cloud and kept up to date.
calendar_today Reservations
Upcoming reservations with guest names, dates, and special requests.
sync_alt Housekeeping Updates
When staff marks a room as clean in PropertyPlex, that status gets sent back to OPERA Cloud too.
schedule Automatic Refresh
PropertyPlex checks OPERA Cloud for changes every 5 minutes, or you can click Sync Now anytime.
Something Not Working?
error_outline Connection error when setting up
Make sure you entered all three values correctly: Client ID, Client Secret, and Application Key. Also make sure the environment matches — if the application was created in Sandbox mode, you need to pick Sandbox in PropertyPlex (and vice versa for Production).
error_outline "Hotel not found" error
Double-check your Hotel ID. It needs to match exactly what's in OPERA Cloud (it's case-sensitive). Go to OPERA Cloud > Administration > Enterprise > Property to verify the code. Also make sure the application has been given access to your specific hotel.
error_outline Rooms aren't showing up
If your rooms exist in OPERA Cloud but aren't appearing in PropertyPlex, click on the connector and hit Sync Now to force a refresh. If they still don't appear, the application may not have the right permissions — contact whoever set it up in Oracle.
error_outline Changes are delayed
PropertyPlex checks OPERA Cloud every 5 minutes. If you need changes to show up faster, click Sync Now on the connector page in PropertyPlex.
