schedule
This setup takes about 5–10 minutes. You'll create a connection in Mews Commander, then enter the details in PropertyPlex.
1
Create the Connection in Mews
First, you need to tell Mews that PropertyPlex is allowed to connect. Here's how:
- Log into Mews Commander like you normally do
- Click on Settings in the menu
- Find and click Integrations
- Click Create new connector integration
- Type a name for it (just call it "PropertyPlex")
- Click Save — Mews will show you three pieces of information you need to copy
After saving, you'll see these three items. Copy all three and save them somewhere (a note, an email to yourself, etc.):
-
vpn_key
Client Token — a long code that identifies the connection
-
lock
Access Token — another long code (like a password)
-
badge
Client Name — the name you typed in (e.g., "PropertyPlex")
warning
Important: Copy these right away! The Access Token is only shown once. If you lose it, you'll have to go back and create a new one.
2
Enter the Details in PropertyPlex
Now take those three values and plug them into PropertyPlex:
- In PropertyPlex, go to System Admin > Integrations
- Click Add Connector
- Pick Mews from the list
- Paste in your Client Token, Access Token, and Client Name
- Choose Production (unless you're just testing with sample data, then pick Demo)
- Choose which PropertyPlex property this should connect to
- Click Test & Connect to make sure everything works
check_circle
That's it! PropertyPlex will immediately start pulling in your rooms and active reservations from Mews.
How Room Statuses Match Up
When a room changes status in Mews, PropertyPlex automatically translates it:

| Dirty |

| Inspected |

Inspection |

What Gets Synced
Once connected, PropertyPlex automatically keeps the following up to date:
meeting_room Your Rooms
Room names, numbers, types, floors, and bed setups are pulled from Mews and kept up to date.
event Reservations
Current and upcoming reservations with guest names, check-in/check-out dates, and special requests.
cleaning_services Housekeeping Status
Room statuses are automatically translated between Mews and PropertyPlex using the table above.
info
PropertyPlex checks Mews for updates every 5 minutes. You can also hit Sync Now on the connector page anytime to get the latest data immediately.
science
Want to test first? Mews has a Demo mode with sample rooms and reservations. When setting up the connector in PropertyPlex, just pick Demo instead of Production. You can switch to Production later when you're ready to go live.
Push Notifications
When Mews syncs room status changes to PropertyPlex, push notifications are sent to your team automatically. For example, when a room moves to "Inspected" in Mews, PropertyPlex translates it to "Inspection" and sends an Inspection Ready notification.
notifications_active
Notifications triggered by Mews syncs respect your role-based notification preferences. For example, if you've disabled inspection alerts for technicians, they won't receive them even when the status change comes from Mews. Configure preferences in System Admin > Notifications. Learn more
Something Not Working?
error_outline "Invalid credentials" error
Double-check that you pasted all three values correctly: Client Token, Access Token, and Client Name. Even one extra space can cause it to fail. Try copying them fresh from Mews Commander.
error_outline Connection stopped working
The integration might have been turned off in Mews. Go to Mews Commander > Settings > Integrations and make sure the PropertyPlex integration is still active (not disabled).
error_outline Picked the wrong environment
If you set up your Mews connection in Demo mode but picked Production in PropertyPlex (or the other way around), it won't work. Make sure both sides match — either both Demo or both Production.
